born and raised in Belle Chasse and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grammar and graduated from Holy Cross

High School in 1981.

At the young age of 12, Jim & his brother Dwight played at camp grounds with their mentor Johnny Caciabauda

(2006 Inductee), who played a large roll in their musical development. He started playing drums in 1980 with

"Louisiana Outlaws" at Bronco's. In 1982 thru 1986, he traveled with a group called,

"Luzianne" and also was the house band for 2 years at the Holiday Inn in Gretna.

In 1986 he went back to Bronco's and joined "Mississippi South". He also played at "after hours" night clubs with

Henry & Tommy Leblanc. In 1987 he played 4 nights a week at O'Charley's in Gretna for 15 years. The last 13 years

he played there with his brother Dwight, Alan Hebert and Dwight's wife, Sherry Trahan Breland.

Jim also did a 7 year slot as the drummer for MCA Recording artist,

"Evangeline" touring the country. He played 3-4 years touring with Cajun/Zydeco artist Waylon Thibodeaux. He

played from 1998 to 2002 at Caddy Shack in Harvey with "Danny Hebert & Clean Sweep". He has played on many

recording sessions for artist in New Orleans and was well known as the most working drummer in town doing over

400 gigs per year for many years.

JOHN W. "WOODY" VALLIANT

Woody was born on July 13, 1942 in New Orleans to Alluewee & John W.

Valliant. He has a sister, Nedra and a brother Perry. Woody was raised in Algiers and attended Adolph Meyer

Elementary and graduated from Martin Behrman High School in 1961.

His interest in music began playing the trumpet while at Adolph Meyer. In

his first year at Behrman he had braces and told Milton Bush he could not play trumpet with braces. So he finished

out his years at Behrman playing tuba.

His interest turned to the drums and got a set with the help of his

grandparents. The first band he was in was,

"Bobby Lonero & the Bob Whites".

Bobby recorded, "The Girl I Marry". Several other bands Woody played with are;

Billy Luff's band, Guy McDonald and Jerry Babineaux. Then with Boo Hargis and the Fidelity's who played for a long

time at the Gold Room behind Nelson's.

Members of the band were Billy Fayard, Eddie Hynes, Ronnie Barrosse, Vic Fouquet and Boo Hargis. We played at

the Sands on St. Charles and Ernie-K-Doe was with us on Thursday nights. Later on, Woody played with Bob Tassin

at the Old Scorpio. He also played with Mac Rebennack and his Skyliners before he became Dr. John. Woody also

play with one of my dearest friends, Stark Whitman who recorded, "Graduation Day". Stark was also the best man at

his wedding in 1963.

Woody was working for LP&L and accepted a promotion which meant shift work which ended his playing music

steadily with bands. But he did sit in with groups and did fill in at times.

Some of the places Woody played was the 509, WoDo, Gold Room, Joy Lounge, Last Round Up, Wego in on the Hill,

Fireman's Hall, Buddy Allo's Black Cat Lounge, Swamp Room, Deutsches Haus, The Blue Angel on Bourbon St.,

House of Zinn, Keesler Air Force Base and numerous weddings.

Woody retired from LP&L with 34 years of service. He's married to the former Carol Bourgeois for 57 years plus and

has 2 sons, Ken and Don and a granddaughter Catherine. Woody & his with Carol reside in Florida.

Thru the years he has played with and been around some of the best musicians that came out of New Orleans and

for that he is eternally grateful

“SOUTHERN FIRE"

The "Southern Fire" Band was originally formed in 1980 as a Country & Western band playing around the New

Orleans area & parts of South Louisiana.

The original band members were guitarist, Kevin Wilson, drummer Glenn Morvant, bass guitarist Danny Dufrene &

lead guitarist Nelson Bourg. The band played at numerous private parties, weddings, fairs & festivals, charity &

political events, and night clubs including Bronco's, Carter Country & Cowboy's. After several years the band split up

and each member went their own way.

On July 22, 2017, following a "Southern Fire" reunion, the original 4 members decided to start playing again. The

band played one public event, when ironically on July 22, 2018, exactly one year, the drummer, Glenn Morvant,

passed away suddenly in his sleep. Glenn Morvant was later inducted into the Westbank Musicians Hall of Fame on

June 2, 2019.

In August of 2018, the band hired Wayne Kron as the new drummer. With Wayne's heavy beat & hard driving style,

the band's music began to evolve to a more Southern Rock and Bluesy sound with a touch of country. The band

continued to play for private events, charity & political events and performed regularly at The Fort, a new outdoor

venue in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

In February 2021, the band continued to add to its new sound by hiring longtime New Orleans keyboardist, Robbie

Treadway. With 40 years of performing, Robbie's soulful style of playing and singing was the perfect compliment to

the band's new sound.

The current "Southern Fire" band members consist of guitarist & vocalist Kevin Wilson, lead guitarist & vocalist

Nelson Bourg, bass guitarist Danny Dufrene, drummer Wayne Kron and keyboardist & vocalist Robbie Treadway
